JONATHAN SMIT

MD and Founder of Smart Project Solutions, a consulting company operating in the mining and construction industry of Africa, specialising in project management, project controls, planning and scheduling.

Born in the diamond mining capital of South Africa, Kimberley, Jonathan spent his youth in the mining towns of South Africa, Namibia and Botswana, this was the environment and experiences which sparked an interest and would later on see him joining the company, Glencore formally known as Xstrata PLC. From a financial and project perspective, it was the exposure to large mining and construction projects, coupled with the sound mentorship and gained experience, that adequately equipped him and Smart Project Solutions Pty Ltd was conceived.

As a certified Project Management Professional and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Business Management, his true expertise lie in the design and development of integrated project schedules. With the input of SME stakeholders and the emphasis on proper controls, these schedules are geared to deliver, add business value and achieve his client’s project goals.

His work reflects his personal values: honesty, integrity and accountability. Continuously searching for practical, innovative methods and utilising trusted technology, he is able to deliver a quality service which meets his client’s project objectives.

Smart Project Solutions was established for one purpose, to ensure a greater percentage success rate on project delivery.

His personal interests include sports such as tennis, football and rugby, outdoor activities such as water-skiing, running and hiking and travelling to beautiful destinations.
